Tasking Enhancements: More Control, Less Friction

Field technicians now have more flexibility and control when managing tasks.

• Intent Confirmation – When closing a task, users are prompted to save, discard, or continue editing – no more accidental saves.
• Add Equipment on the Fly – Technicians can add equipment directly from the task list. It’s automatically linked to the service call.
• Assign Equipment by Task Lists – Pull default tasks based on equipment type to ensure nothing gets missed. 
• Manage Incomplete Tasks – View and complete all open tasks for specific equipment with just a few clicks. 
• Quick Equipment Access – A new info button allows instant navigation to the equipment form from task details.

Notes and Attachments are Streamlined and Accessible

Communicate better and attach more – faster.

• Multi-File Upload – Attach multiple documents or images at once. 
• Location Attachments in the Field – View and add attachments to service locations directly from MobileTech. 
• Note Button Interface – New notepad icons indicate whether notes exist, with easy access to view or edit content. 
• Cloud Storage Support – Scale with Microsoft Azure cloud storage. Choose cloud, local, or hybrid storage for photos, videos, and attachments.

Inventory Updates: More Visibility, Less Error

Make inventory management more efficient and accurate.

• Multi-Item Selection – Add up to five inventory items at once, then adjust quantities and pricing. 
• Prevent Negative Stock Use – New settings restrict techs from using items with zero or negative quantity on hand. 
• View Other Techs’ Inventory – See what items have already been assigned by other technicians to prevent duplication.

Job Features: Greater Flexibility in the Field

MobileTech v10 gives field teams more autonomy.

• View All Active Jobs – Techs can see all active jobs – even if they’re not assigned. 
• Create Appointments in the Field – Set up job appointments directly from the mobile interface. 
• Log Labor Without Appointments – Add time entries to any open job, even without a scheduled appointment.

Reporting and Other Enhancements

Dynamic Report Templates: Assign specific report templates by customer or location.

• OCR Integration – Use your mobile camera to extract text from images into forms.
• Auto-Sync Appointment Status – Syncs in the background when status changes occur. 
• Call ID Visibility – Easily view the originating call ID on the service call screen. 
• Tech Lookup Filters – Filter helper techs by department or position. 
• User Count Summary – View user totals by company or across your entire organization.

Microsoft Exchange Online Update

Heads up: Microsoft will deprecate Basic Auth for SMTP endpoints in September 2025. This could impact emailed reports from MobileTech. Service Packs are available for supported versions – contact us to ensure you’re ready.
